Percy Priest 6-3-11

Was it hot? Wasss it hotttt? You bet it was hot. When I came off the lake at noon, my car showed 95. But, it was actually pretty nice until about 9:30-10:00. There was a bit of cloud cover that hid the sun a few hours. I got on the lake about 5:15am at Stewart's Creek. Headed up toward the 3 rivers junction. Stopped at the rock bluff before getting there and picked up 1 fish about 13" on a Fluke. Proceeded on to one of my favorite places, an island with grass around the edge. The water could have been about 10 inches higher for best effect. I wound up catching 12 fish, most around 13" with 3-4 going 13" all on Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed worm. Colors were Candy Bug and Black Sapphire. Any dark color would work. All were caught around grass or under overhanging trees in 1-2 feet of water. They weren't big but they were feisty and fun. Also caught a bull bream on crankbait in bluegill pattern. What do you suppose he was thinking?  The bite stopped at 10 am and I finally got the message and stopped at 12.
