Old Hickory 6-8-11

Hate to even post this report but if I only posted good reports there wouldn't be very many. Got on the lake at 5:15 still twilight. Fished a big grass bed in Spencer Creek with my old faithful, Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed worm. Nothing moving. Finally caught my first fish about 7:30. Water temp 78. moved down lake a little way to a cove with a good bit of grass. Caught zip. Finally moved out to a ledge on the river. Caught 1 keeper on a crankbait in about 4 feet of water on the edge of the channel. Moved to Station Camp creek but no bites. Moved back into Spencer Creek. Caught 1 more keeper off some wood and grass. That was my catch for the day (except for a tiny white bass). I did lose 4-5 fish but overall a disappointing day. The water temp was a mystery. The river and the cove off the river was 68-70 but saw 78-80 in Spencer Creek. Fished until noon with the air temp rising above 95.
