Percy Priest 5-19-2010

Percy Priest is no Lake Fork. Had a pretty tough day at JPP. Didn't get on the lake until 10:30 am. Have no doubt I could have caught over 20 fish if I had been on the lake at first light. As it was, I had only 5 and only 2 of those were keepers. Caught all on a UltraVibe Speed worm up shallow around the island where the 3 rivers/creeks merge. Lot of bites but couldn't hook up. Cranked, jigged, C-rig but no cigars. Put in at Stewart's creek and stayed up lake most of the day.

Lake Fork 5-1/5-11, 2010

Joined up with 3 other boats in West Memphis on Friday, Apr 30. 450 miles to Lake Fork Texas about 90 miles east of Dallas. Met up with 3 other boats at Lake Fork Marina and headed for our favorite outdoor restaurant serving heaps of boiled crawfish. Great!!!

Saturday morning met us with storms, lightning, thunder and high winds at 6:00 am. By 7:30 the skies began to clear and we hit the lake with high anticipation. Turned out to be a very slow day. I caught only 3 fish while my brother-in-law John caught only 1 a 3 lber. Sunday was a beautiful day with light winds.I think I had 8 fish with a 4.5 and a 5 plus a couple of 3 lbers. I think I had around 16.5 lbers. John had a tougher day. Monday was much windier but still a nice day. I caught 5-6 fish with a 4 and a 4.5 pounder. John only had 2 fish but he had a nice 3 lb (which is the largest he has ever caught) and then hooked and masterfully landed a beautiful 7.0 lb bass. He avoided the bass wrapping him up in stumps and trees with several trips under the boat. Both of us were really excited. Tuesday was our last day and was very windy. I caught 13 bass with most 1.75 to 4.5 with a couple of dinks. John had another 3 and some 1.5s. The quantities were not big but the quality of our catches were very good. Hit the road back to Memphis on Wed where I dropped off John and headed to Franklin dead tired but very satisfied.
