Dale Hollow 11-11-2010

Dale Hollow! I have read stories about this legendary lake for over 60 years. The world record smallmouth bass was caught here. One of the great smallmouth fisheries in the nation. My fishing buddy, Earl and I, arrived in Celina Tn after a 2 hour drive from Franklin, TN. Stopped in at Dale Hollow 1 Stop, the home of Punisher Lures. We then arrived at Horse Creek Marina. All morning we had driven through patch fog. At Horse Creek it was thick. We waited about an hour before launching the boat. Still could only idle around for another 45 minutes. We finally got on the main lake fishing points with jig and swimbait (Big Hammer). Even threw the Float N Fly some. Did not score a fish but was not disappointed at all with this trip. The lake is beautiful and knowing the quality of smallmouths made every moment expectant. We fished from the lower lake up to mid lake exploring. I plan to come back in January for Float N Fly fishing.
